If you are 18 years old and above, have a heart for children and youth, and are able to commit for at least six months, we welcome you to consider the following roles to support our work:
- Homework Buddy for Foster Children
As a homework buddy, you will provide one-on-one sessions to children aged 3 to 18 who are in foster care. Your primary goal is to support these children in their academic development, focusing on areas where they may need extra help. You will work closely with the children to improve their understanding of key subjects, boost their confidence, and foster a love for learning.Time: Dependent on Foster Family and Tutor’s Availabilities
Location: Foster Parents’ Home
Eligibility Criteria:
- Strong knowledge of core subjects relevant to the child’s educational level is important.
- Ability to empathize with foster children and understand their unique challenges.
- Genuine interest in working with foster children and making a positive difference in their lives.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding foster children.
- Volunteer Transport Minder for Sanctuary Care
- This role involves transporting the children we serve as they sometimes have to travel between their natural homes, respite carer’s home and school.
- We usually require help on weekday mornings/evenings (school run) and weekend mornings (to and from biological parents).
- Volunteer Photographer (Ad-hoc Basis)
- Volunteer photographer/videographer who will be able to capture moments for Boys’ Town in-house or external events/programmes.
- Taking photographs for our social media posts, newsletters, other channels and Boys’ Town collaterals.
- Must provide own digital camera and equipment including lenses.
- Able to provide samples of the current portfolio.
MSF screening is required for all volunteers in direct services. The Boys’ Town team will assess your suitability and guide you on the registration process where applicable.
