While most of our work focuses on communities within Singapore, Caritas also reaches out to needy groups in other countries through our overseas arm, Caritas Humanitarian Aid & Relief Initiatives, Singapore (CHARIS).

We seek to help victims of natural disasters and other difficulties faced by the poor and needy, especially in developing countries.

Some of our projects included sending aid to flood victims in the Philippines (in 2012) and Thailand (in 2011).

Our member organisations also carry out long-term programmes. A Call To Share (ACTS) has been supporting schools in Cambodia for the last six years, through medical check-ups, teacher training, food and clean water and computer donations sourced from Singapore Polytechnic.

Epiphany Parish Mission Group teaches English to hostelites in Bintan, while acts29 supports a school for children at the Payatas Dumpsite in Manila. Find out more about overseas missions at the CHARIS website.
