Volunteering with CHIJ Sanctuary for Children

CHIJ Sanctuary for Children serves children and youth from diverse racial groups and religions. They are looking to fill the following volunteer role to extend the work they do.


Role:

  1. Volunteer Gardener
    Day: Wednesdays and Fridays (alternate weeks)
    Time: 9am to 11am
    Venue: IJ Village, 503 Ang Mo Kio Street 13 Singapore 569406

    We have an outdoor edible garden on premise at our IJ Village centre. The garden aims to serve as a ‘living classroom’ to teach the children about edibles and share the joy of gardening to improve physical and psychological wellbeing, and also encourage them to develop a hobby for life.

    The volunteer will support garden maintenance efforts and help sustain the garden spaces independently and engagingly.

    2. Requirements:

    • 17 years old and above 
    • Enjoys gardening and being in the outdoors 
    • Able to commit for 6 months and above
    • Available to help once every two weeks
    • Preferred to have some experience in gardening
