1. Gardeners to support the upkeep and sustainability of the rooftop garden by maintaining and harvesting plants.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with routine gardening tasks such as watering, weeding, pruning, and harvesting
- Support the general upkeep and cleanliness of the garden space
- Handle basic tools and materials safely and responsibly
- Monitor plant health and flag any issues (e.g., pests, wilting plants) to the lead
- Assist in preparing the garden for programme use or activities where applicable
- Follow guidance while completing tasks independently when required
- Ensure proper storage of tools and materials after use
Impact of the Role: The Rooftop Garden Team contributes to the creation and maintenance of a calming, green space that supports community engagement. By sustaining the garden through regular care and upkeep, volunteers help provide an environment that can be used for therapeutic activities, social interaction, and connection with nature. This role supports both environmental sustainability and the holistic wellbeing of participants of SAP, while helping to cultivate a variety of vegetables, including pumpkins, daikons, and leafy greens.
Requirements:
- Interest or passion for gardening and environmental stewardship
- Physically fit and comfortable with activities such as bending, lifting, and kneeling
- Reliable and able to complete tasks consistently and on time
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Basic gardening knowledge or willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Patient, responsible, and attentive to detail

2. Photography / Videography to capture meaningful moments of the event that reflect participation, engagement, and community spirit, for reporting and outreach purposes.
Responsibilities:
- Capture key moments of event (e.g., flag-off, participant interactions, activities, booths)
- Ensure a good mix of wide shots and close-up engagement moments
- Be mindful of participant consent and privacy when capturing images/videos
- Work with Caritas/organisers to identify priority shots or moments
- Organise and submit media files promptly after the event
- Ensure proper handling and storage of equipment if applicable
Impact of the Role: The Photography and Videography Team supports the documentation and visibility of the event, capturing key moments that reflect participation, community spirit, and programme reach. These visuals are valuable for reporting, stakeholder engagement, and future outreach, helping to communicate impact in an authentic and accessible way. By doing so while respecting participant privacy, this role balances storytelling with responsible representation.
