Montfort Care’s GoodLife! Makan is a community kitchen where stay alone seniors and volunteers gather for activities, cook and eat together.
In preparation of the community kitchen is reopening once the COVID-19 Safe Management Measures permits. Montfort Care GoodLife! Makan is looking for volunteer cooks (3 per weekday) to cook for and together with seniors for weekday lunch. Volunteers are encouraged to join the seniors for lunch too.

They are looking for volunteers who are:

    • able to cook at GoodLife! Makan (52 Marine Terrace Singapore 440052).
    • discuss menu with the GoodLife! Makan staff to confirm ingredient lists.
    • available from 9.30 – 1pm on weekdays.
    • committed to serving at least once a week for 3 months.

Tech Savvy Volunteers needed to engage Stay Alone Seniors Online with [email protected] Parade

Montfort Care’s GoodLife! Makan is a community kitchen where stay alone seniors and volunteers gather for activities, cook and eat together.
Due to COVID situation, the community kitchen is closed. However to continue to engage these stay alone seniors, GoodLife! Makan is hoping to engage these underprivileged seniors remotely through zoom/ online platform through activities. As not all stay alone seniors might have the financial ability or devices for such activities, the number of participants might be limited.

They are looking for volunteers who are:

    • able to engage seniors via online platform once a week
    • plan and execute activities that is within an hour.
    • commitment period: minimum 3 months.

Medical Escorts for Elderly Resident at St Vincent Home

St Vincent Home was set up in 1979 by Catholic Welfare Services and the Society of St Vincent de Paul as a joint project. It is a sheltered home in a residential arrangement that provides basic amenities to its ambulant elderly residents (above 60 years of age, and rely on public assistance as they have no immediate family to care for them).

Role / duties:

  • To accompany your assigned buddy (elderly resident at St Vincent Home) for medical appointment.
  • Volunteers familiar with the medical systems in Singapore preferred.
  • Volunteer will need to be alert to check medication prescribed to assigned buddy is accurate and to convey the prescription to the staff at St Vincent Home after the appointment. This will support staff to accurately administer/ pack medicine for resident.
  • Preferably able to speak Mandarin and Chinese dialects.
  • Volunteers will not be required to bear the costs of transport to and fro St Vincent Home and the hospital. Volunteers who drive and have own vehicle are welcomed to use their own transport for this role.

Time: According to assigned buddy’s medical appointment date and time. Could take the full morning or afternoon.
Commitment: At least 3 to 6 months.
