As part of our Care for Creation efforts during the Season of Creation, we had our first Caritas Singapore Community Tree Planting!
On 16 September 2023, we held our first-ever Caritas Tree Planting event. 65 participants gathered, showing their stewardship and commitment to caring for creation. Together, they planted 70 trees native to Asia and Singapore, with a focus on Mangosteen, Island Lychee and Butterfly Host trees.
We express our thanks to our sponsor, National Parks Board, for providing the trees and supporting our volunteers during the event. This event contributed to their OneMillionTrees movement, and member organisations, families, parishioners, and representatives from various Laudato Si’ parish ministries dug, planted, and watered new trees, which will bring cleaner air and temperature regulation in the future.
