Here are the roles we need support in:
1. Pre-Event Logistics Volunteers
Support the set-up and distribution of the walk T-shirt and bib at the collection point, providing a positive participant experience during collection days.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the set-up and dismantling of the collection area
- Distribute walk T-shirt and bib to registered participants
- Verify participant details and support the registration/check-in process where required
- Answer basic event-related queries and direct participants to the appropriate staff when necessary
- Help maintain an orderly flow of participants and queues at the collection point
- Ensure distribution materials and supplies are organised and replenished throughout the shift
- Support general housekeeping and ensure the collection area remains clean and welcoming
Impact of the Role:
The Pre-Event Logistics Team plays an important role in ensuring participants have a smooth and positive experience before the event day. By supporting the collection and distribution of event materials, volunteers help participants feel prepared and welcomed as part of the Walk with Caritas Family community. Their efforts contribute to efficient event operations and set the stage for a meaningful and successful event experience.
Requirements:
- Friendly and approachable with good interpersonal skills
- Comfortable interacting with members of the public
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Organised and attentive to detail
- Physically able to stand for extended periods and handle light lifting where required
- Reliable and punctual
- Prior event experience is helpful but not required

Location: CIMB Plaza
2. Ushers / Crowd Management & Food Distribution Volunteers
Support participant safety and event flow by welcoming walkers, guiding movement throughout the event site, and assisting with food distribution activities.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome and direct participants arriving from Beach Station, drop-off points, and surrounding areas
- Guide participants to key event locations, including the flag-off area, carnival booths, and food collection points
- Assist with crowd management and safe movement of participants throughout the event
- Support organisers in maintaining orderly queues and participant flow during high-traffic periods
- Monitor designated areas and report any safety concerns to event staff
- Assist with food distribution and provide basic information on collection procedures
- Encourage participants to make voluntary love offerings during food collection where applicable
- Provide a friendly and helpful presence for participants seeking assistance
Impact of the Role:
The Ushers, Crowd Management and Food Distribution Team helps create a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for the thousands of participants attending Walk with Caritas Family 2026. By supporting wayfinding, crowd flow, and food distribution, volunteers contribute to the smooth running of the event while fostering a spirit of hospitality, care, and community. Their presence helps participants feel supported and enables the event to be conducted safely and efficiently.
Requirements:
- Friendly, patient, and comfortable engaging with large groups of people
- Able to communicate clearly and confidently
- Comfortable standing and moving around for extended periods
- Alert and responsive to safety concerns and participant needs
- Able to remain calm in a dynamic event environment
- Reliable and able to follow event protocols and instructions
- Prior event or customer service experience is an advantage but not required

Location: Palawan Green, Sentosa
3. Route Marshals / Cheer Squad Volunteers
Support participants along the walking route by providing directional guidance, maintaining route safety, and creating an encouraging and energetic atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
- Guide participants along the designated walking route and direct them at key junctions
- Hold directional signs and provide clear route instructions when required
- Encourage and cheer on participants throughout the walk to foster a positive event atmosphere
- Engage participants with clappers, pom-poms, and other approved cheering materials
- Observe the route for potential safety concerns and notify event staff when necessary
- Remain alert for medical incidents and promptly inform the first aid team or event organisers
- Assist in maintaining orderly participant movement along the route
- Support post-event clean-up and the removal of route signage where required
Impact of the Role:
The Route Marshals and Cheer Squad Team plays a key role in ensuring participants enjoy a safe, engaging, and memorable walking experience. By providing guidance and encouragement throughout the route, volunteers help create a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the spirit of solidarity and community at Walk with Caritas Family 2026. - Comfortable engaging with participants of all ages and backgrounds
- Able to remain attentive and alert throughout the assigned shift
- Comfortable standing outdoors for extended periods
- Able to communicate clearly and provide directions confidently
- Responsible and able to follow event safety procedures
- Team player with a positive attitude
