| As teenagers, Joseph and Terri were encouraged to see many adults in their parish who were keen to give of their time and talents to serve others. This led them to be active in their Church, in the Altar Boys and Legion of Mary ministries.
After their marriage in 1983, they continued to serve by helping out at Engaged Encounter Weekends. Joseph and Terri were initially surprised that many couples do not think through fundamental issues that can be trying challenges to a marriage.
“We have had a wonderful marriage spanning over 20 years and we are happy to reach out to couples and help prepare them for a long journey of life together,” says Joseph. “We also involve ourselves in our children's lives by doing sporting and leisure activities together. We are also active parent-catechists in the FIRE program also known as Home Catechism.”
As a married couple, they have found joy and fulfillment in giving their time and talents together to the service of God. They will not hesitate to encourage people to serve in any way they can.
“We have derived so much from serving,” stressed Joseph, “and I would encourage my children to do the same.”
