“I was diagnosed with AIDS in 2004 and was fortunate to have found shelter and comfort with CARE, which operates the only such facility for AIDS sufferers. Here, I am given respect as a human being and the staff takes my advice and ideas seriously. With encouragement from them, I have discovered my hidden talent in Art and this has given me something to live for and has filled my days with happiness.”

“I was put into a convent when I was three. I have never had a family of my own, so the people here are like my family. We take care of each other and I am fortunate to be well looked after here. I am happy here and thank God for each new day.”
Nancy, 85 Resident of St Vincent Home
“I was born blind and deaf and abandoned at the gates of the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus (Victoria Street). The convent sisters took me in and cared for me. In 1991, I suffered from stroke and hypertension which left me bedridden. The Home provided me shelter and showered me with love and care. I am grateful for not being forsaken despite my illnesses.”
Josephine Quek, 68 Resident of Villa Francis Home for the Aged
