| As we respond to this call to be more aware of the needs of others around us, we are exhorted to identify ourselves with those who are less fortunate, and to make some efforts to share this world equally. Almsgiving implies a material service rendered to the poor for Christ’s sake. We can also perform active works of charity through the sharing of our time and talents with those in need.
In this season of Lent, the Church presents us with the opportunity to share our financial resources and talents to benefit the many charitable causes served by Catholic charity and community organisations.
To donate, pick up a Charities Week 2011 appeal envelope from your parish or download the form. You may wish to drop your donation envelope in your parish offertory box or mail it directly to Caritas Singapore (cheques only). Kindly indicate if you would like tax deduction on your donation and provide us with your NRIC number. According to the Budget 2011 announcement, the enhanced tax deduction of 250% is extended for another five years.
